-
- This, IMHO, falls down to knowledge of the system you're running.

- OOOF! A *seriuos* and *knowledgeable* Amiga user.

-
- I could match your list somewhat.
- (Not by ownership - but by "long time testing")
-
- As I have a friend who is a retail dealer of Amigas and PC's - I have done
- some installation and testing on *various* Amiga systems.
-
- Based on my knowledge about Amigas I can only make one simple comment:
-
- If your Amiga crashes then you *have* *not* _installed_ your software.
-
- Maybe you were running "Tracker *This*", "Hacker Game *That*" and "PD-ware
- *Spam*" ??
- Does _any_ system *WITHOUT* memory protection handle these things well?
-
- Ever compared OS/2 and the AmigaOS?
- If you do; you will find that the AmigaOS matches up pretty well apart from
- two things:
- 1) Memory Protection is only used *during* *serious* debugging,
- (Because the required _hardware_ isn't a "Standard-Amiga" component)
- 2) DOS-compatiblity missing
- (Thou you can run a bunch of Soft & Hard PC-emulators).
-
- If you prefer MacOS, you can run that too;
- And it runs *faster* than the original - isn't that strange?
- (Several diffrent available, at least one is PD *and* good)
-
- You can run unix too:
- Linux is available (haven't tried that yet, but it is tempting).
- FreeBSD also available.
-
- >>Also hear so much about how Ibm has finally passed the Amiga? They still
- >>can't get the computer to run decent and they have passed the Amiga?
-
- Agree... ;) [ or did I misinterpret it? ]
-
- >When an IBM fails, there usually is a known (or at least knowable) cause for
- >the failure, when an Amiga fails, the cause can even be a mystery to Tech
- >Support.
-
- Sad but true. Indicates some things about "tech support" people out there.
-
- >However, there is Windows NT Workstation, which runs most Windows 95 programs
- >(even most Windows 95 GAMES) and which runs MUCH faster on the PentiumPro

- >AMIGA TODAY?
-
- Getting up its strength, I would say.
-
- ( o Standard model production running,
- o 68060 stuff up and running,
- o PowerPC stuff coming,
- o ... read below for more)
-
- *OLD* Commodore was not a "sales-related" owner. All they wanted was: earn
- money with as little effort as possible.
-
- I can't say that I saw many advertisment campaigns while *they* were at it...
- How about you; Did you?
